What is Therapy?

Therapy is process that people enter into to solve problems, gain coping skills, heal hurts and find support. It’s a place where a person can bring problems, new or old, discover new ways of looking at them and work toward personal growth. Sometimes, people don’t know why they are coming to therapy, they just know something’s off. I view my job as helping people figure out what the problem is, help them to feel better, look at what changes they’d like to make in their life and enhance what might already working. My approach to therapy is simple. If a client doesn’t feel connected to me in a way that they can begin to trust me and “bring in” what is really going on, then I’m not the therapist for them and I’ll help them find someone who is. I approach my work with warmth, authenticity, and humor. Your first therapy appointment is an opportunity to get to know if I'm the right therapist for you and I look forward to hearing from you.
